Overview


The TOXU TX-G017 is an outdoor active GNSS timing antenna designed for fixed satellite-navigation reception, timing synchronization, reference-station, and infrastructure applications.

The antenna covers two frequency ranges: 1166–1218MHz and 1559–1606MHz. These ranges support reception of compatible GNSS signals operating within the specified bands. Actual constellation and signal support depends on the connected GNSS receiver.

The TX-G017 uses right-hand circular polarization and provides a specified zenith gain of 43±2dB. Its integrated active circuit has a noise figure of no more than 2dB, an output VSWR of no more than 1.8:1, and passband ripple below 2dB in both specified frequency ranges.

The active circuit operates from 3–12V DC with current consumption below 45mA. Bias power is normally supplied through the RF cable by a compatible GNSS receiver, timing module, or bias-tee circuit.

For outdoor reliability, the antenna is specified with an IP67-rated enclosure, 15kV air-discharge ESD protection, IEC 61000-4-5 surge protection, 720-hour salt-spray resistance, and an operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C.

The standard configuration uses a nominal 50-ohm N female connector. Its white radome and pole-mounting arrangement support permanent outdoor installation on communication sites, timing stations, monitoring facilities, reference stations, and marine infrastructure.

The TX-G017 is an active GNSS antenna only. It does not calculate position, generate timing data, process RTK corrections, or replace a GNSS receiver or timing module.

System Integration


The TX-G017 must be connected to a compatible GNSS receiver, timing module, reference-station receiver, or synchronization device supporting the required signals within 1166–1218MHz and 1559–1606MHz.

The antenna requires 3–12V DC bias power with current capacity above the specified operating consumption. Bias power is normally supplied through the coaxial cable by the connected receiver or a compatible bias-tee circuit.

Before connection, confirm the receiver’s antenna-bias voltage, available current, short-circuit protection, active-antenna detection, and RF input power limitations.

The standard antenna uses an N female connector. Select a compatible N male cable connector and low-loss 50-ohm coaxial cable according to the required cable length and operating frequency.

Long coaxial cables introduce insertion loss and can reduce the signal level delivered to the receiver. Cable type and length should be evaluated as part of the complete RF link budget.

For outdoor installation, mount the antenna vertically with the radome facing the sky and provide the clearest practical sky view. Avoid nearby walls, metal roofs, transmitting antennas, overhead structures, motors, and other sources of blockage, reflection, or electromagnetic interference.

The IP67 rating applies to the antenna enclosure under the specified product configuration. The mating connector, cable joint, mounting interface, grounding, lightning-protection system, and complete installation must be sealed and protected separately.

IEC 61000-4-5 surge immunity must not be treated as complete site-level lightning protection. Outdoor installations may still require professional grounding, surge arresters, lightning-protection devices, and compliance with applicable local electrical standards.

Final reception, timing, positioning, waterproofing, corrosion resistance, and surge performance should be verified on the completed installation.
