Product Description

Overview

The TOXU TX-A21 is a compact 915MHz external rubber duck antenna developed for compatible LoRa, ISM, IoT, telemetry, remote-control, industrial monitoring, and wireless communication equipment.

The antenna operates at the specified 915MHz frequency and provides 3dBi nominal gain with linear polarization and 50Ω impedance. Its compact 108mm housing is suitable for wireless devices requiring a direct-mounted external antenna.

The swivel-mount structure allows the antenna body to be adjusted according to the equipment installation direction. This makes the TX-A21 suitable for gateways, wireless terminals, data-transmission units, control equipment, sensors, and other devices with an external RF antenna port.

SMA and RP-SMA connector versions are available. Customized connector, housing, frequency-matching, branding, and packaging requirements can also be evaluated according to the customer’s equipment and order quantity.

The current specification identifies the antenna as a 915MHz version. Compatibility with a wider frequency range, including the complete 902–928MHz band, must not be assumed unless confirmed by an approved specification or RF test report.

Key Features

915MHz Frequency Configuration

The antenna is designed for compatible wireless equipment operating at the specified 915MHz frequency.

3dBi Nominal Gain

The specified 3dBi nominal gain supports wireless signal transmission and reception when the antenna is correctly matched, oriented, and installed.

Linear Polarization

The linearly polarized antenna design is suitable for compatible wireless equipment using the same polarization orientation.

Compact 108mm Structure

The compact external housing supports integration with IoT gateways, communication terminals, controllers, monitoring devices, and other equipment with limited installation space.

Swivel-Mount Design

The adjustable antenna joint allows the antenna body to be positioned according to the direction of the equipment connector and the available installation space.

SMA and RP-SMA Connector Options

SMA and RP-SMA configurations are available for different equipment interfaces. The exact connector must be confirmed before ordering because SMA and RP-SMA connectors have different center-contact structures.

PCB Internal Antenna Structure

The molded rubber duck housing contains a PCB-based antenna structure designed for the specified 915MHz operating frequency.

OEM and ODM Configuration

TOXU can evaluate customized frequency matching, RF connector, antenna housing, color, logo, packaging, and other project-specific requirements.

The listed specifications apply to the current 915MHz configuration. The exact frequency bandwidth, connector version, dimensions, and final RF performance should be confirmed through an approved specification before ordering.

Applications

  • 915MHz LoRa Gateways

  • LoRa Sensor Nodes

  • ISM-Band Wireless Equipment

  • Industrial IoT Gateways

  • Wireless Data-Transmission Units

  • Remote-Monitoring Devices

  • Telemetry Equipment

  • Wireless Control Systems

  • Smart-Metering Equipment

  • Environmental Monitoring Systems

  • Industrial Sensors

  • Compatible 915MHz Communication Modules

The connected module or equipment must operate at a frequency compatible with the TX-A21. “LoRa” describes a communication technology and does not automatically confirm antenna compatibility; the actual operating frequency must still be checked.

System Integration

The TX-A21 can be connected directly to compatible LoRa gateways, wireless modules, telemetry units, industrial controllers, monitoring devices, and IoT terminals using a 50Ω SMA or RP-SMA antenna interface.

Before ordering, customers should confirm the exact operating frequency of the connected radio module. The current product specification states 915MHz and does not independently confirm coverage across the entire 902–928MHz frequency range.

The connector type must also be checked carefully. SMA and RP-SMA connectors can have similar external threads, but their center-contact arrangements are different. A connector photograph, equipment datasheet, or exact connector model should be provided if the interface is uncertain.

For suitable wireless performance, the antenna should normally be positioned vertically and kept away from large metal surfaces, shielded structures, motors, power supplies, high-current circuits, and other strong electromagnetic interference sources.

Actual communication distance depends on the radio module, output power, receiver sensitivity, antenna matching, installation orientation, equipment enclosure, obstacles, interference, terrain, and operating environment.

For customized projects, customers should provide the exact operating frequency, required bandwidth, module or equipment model, connector type, installation position, mechanical restrictions, application environment, and estimated order quantity.

FAQ

Q: Is the TX-A21 a LoRa antenna?

A: The TX-A21 can be used with compatible LoRa equipment operating at 915MHz. Compatibility depends on the actual frequency and RF interface of the connected module.

Q: Does it cover the complete 902–928MHz band?

A: The current specification only states 915MHz. Complete 902–928MHz coverage should not be assumed without an approved bandwidth specification or RF test result.

Q: Is the antenna gain 3dBi?

A: Yes. The specified nominal gain is 3dBi. Actual installed performance depends on frequency matching, antenna orientation, equipment structure, and the surrounding environment.

Q: What is the difference between SMA and RP-SMA?

A: SMA and RP-SMA connectors use different center-contact arrangements. Please confirm the equipment interface rather than selecting the connector only by its external thread.

Q: Can the antenna be rotated?

A: Yes. The TX-A21 uses a swivel-mount structure that allows the antenna body to be adjusted after installation.

Q: Can other frequencies be customized?

A: Other frequency configurations can be evaluated according to the required frequency, bandwidth, equipment structure, installation environment, and order quantity. Different frequency versions require separate antenna matching and verification.

Q: Can the connector and housing be customized?

A: Yes. Connector type, housing, color, branding, packaging, and frequency matching can be evaluated according to the project requirements.

Q: What information is required before ordering?

A: Please provide the exact operating frequency, required bandwidth, module or equipment model, connector type, installation position, available space, application environment, and estimated order quantity.
